Why a Will is important
Many people never make a Will because they assume everything
will be passed on to their spouse or children. This isn't
always the case. It is essential that you make plans for the
money you leave so that it benefits the people and causes
that you want it to.
Including a Charity in your Will
Any money you leave a charity is not subject to inheritance
tax. By making a gift to the IRPS Ghana Project you will not
only help the Charity but could also substantially reduce
the amount of tax payable on your estate.
Ways you could help IRPS (Ghana) Project through
your Will
- By ensuring that you do make a Will that names the Trust
in it.
- By adding a codicil to your existing
Will to include a gift to the Trust.
- By making a gift of a specific item of property to the
Trust in your Will.
Your solicitor can advise you how to do any of these things
or contact the telephone number below if you would like information
on drawing up a Will.
Ways your Company Pension could benefit the IRPS
(Ghana) Project
If you belong to a company pension scheme, you can complete
an "expression of wish" form to benefit IRPS Ghana
Project or any other chosen charity. In the event of your
death, part or all of the life insurance benefit will be paid
to your chosen charity. This is an easy legal process but
you should check with your employer that the company pension
scheme is set up to do this.
