Amasaman Health Centre, Ghana - Buruli Ulcer Wards

These are some of the children in the Buruli wards in October 2005. There were many others. This Health Centre lies within one of the worst Buruli endemic regions in Ghana, 15 miles north west of the capital, Accra. Some of the children were improving, others not. Most had been there between 7 months and 1 year with one into his 4th year. Because of time and cost requirements for Buruli treatment, some of these children have been abandoned.
